We have some great teachers at the UU World of Children.

summerSummer Stone – Montessori teacher. Summer is from Easley, SC. She received her AMS Montessori diploma from the Montessori Teacher Training Institute in Clemson, SC in 2014. She has been at UU WoC since 2007. She enjoys reading and playing with her English Bulldogs. She is married, has a son and two daughters and a grandbaby on the way!
alisonAlison Benton - Teacher Assistant. Alison has a degree in Elementary Education from National Louis University and is from Evanston, Illinois. She is married and has four children, three boys and one girl. She enjoys hiking, photography, anything outdoors.
linaLina Pittman – Teacher Assistant (Late Stay). Lina is from Colombia, South America. She has an advertising degree from Medellin, Colombia. She has been teaching Spanish for ten years, in Montessori schools for eight years. She also works as a translator at Mary Black hospital. She is married, has three stepdaughters and two dogs.
shannonShannon Sanchez –Teacher Assistant (Late Stay) Shannon is excited to join the UU WoC staff this year. She has extensive experience working with children in the Greenville County School District. She is married to her high school sweet heart and is a mother to two adorable daughters. She enjoys watercolor and modern calligraphy.
lindenLinden Williford - Teacher Assistant. Linden just joined the UU WoC teaching team. She comes highly recommended from her previous school, where she was the favorite teacher. She is originally from Nashville, Tennessee. She worked on her degree in primary education at Hendrix College in Arkansas. In her free time she enjoys playing with her flock of poultry and playing Roller Derby for the Greenville Derby Dames.
kiaKia Young – Teacher assistant (Late Stay). Kia is from North Augusta. She is working on a degree in Early Childhood at Greenville Tech, and plans to pursue a bachelor’s at USC. She enjoys basketball and running, and she is learning to tickle the ivories. Her mom and brother live in North Augusta.
jackieJackie Weddington – Substitute Teacher. Jackie has her AMS Montessori Diploma from the Montessori Teacher Training Institute in Clemson, SC, and worked fulltime at UU World of Children for fifteen years. She is passionate about social justice. She has a son and daughter, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who keep her pretty busy!
sallySally Dean – Office Administrator. Sally just recently joined our staff at UU WoC. She is originally from Downers Grove, IL. She has a degree in Computer Science from Benedictine University and worked for several years as a software developer. She is married and has three boys. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crochet, and sports.
stephanieStephanie Glasser-Alfieri – Director. Originally from South Salem, New York, Stephanie earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Ohio-Wesleyan University. She received her Master’s Degree in Education and Special Education from the University of Bridgeport. She has over 20 experience years in education. Stephanie is married and has 2 girls and 1 boy & two rambunctious dogs. She enjoys spending time with her children and being the Education Director at her synagogue, Congregation Beth Israel.
maureenMaureen Nery – Founder (Retired in December 2015). Maureen is from Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated from Duquesne University and holds a Primary Diploma from Atlanta Montessori Institute and an Elementary Montessori Diploma from St. Nicholas Institute in London. Maureen has been a teacher since the dawn of time. She is married and has two stepdaughters and three grandchildren. She enjoys whitewater paddling, hiking and writing.
